Dr. Philip S. Engel

Dr. Philip Engel was born in New Jersey, and his father — who was also an oral surgeon — piqued his interest in dentistry. Dr. Engel has over 30 years of experience helping patients in his private practice as well as in hospital settings. He is chief of the Department of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University and an Assistant Clinical Professor at Rutgers Medical School. He is also on staff at St. Peters University Hospital.

Dr. Richard K. Stern

Dr. Richard Stern was born and raised in Brooklyn, where his childhood dentist inspired him to pursue dentistry. Eventually, during dental school, he was exposed to the oral and maxillofacial surgery specialty. After seeing the interesting procedures and challenges that oral surgeons encounter, he decided to expand his skillset and complete an oral and maxillofacial residency program.

Dr. Stern has over 18 years of oral and maxillofacial surgery experience, specializing in all areas of oral surgery, including dental implants, wisdom teeth, corrective jaw surgery, facial injury treatment, and more. Dr. Stern is the chairman of the Department of Dentistry at St. Peter’s University Hospital and is on staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. These hospital affiliations help patients in need of hospital or emergency room care.

Dr. Constantine Simos

Dr. Constantine Simos has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery for over 15 years. He was born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island, but he currently lives in East Brunswick near the Oral Surgery Group office there. He thoroughly enjoys living and working in the East Brunswick community.

Throughout his career, Dr. Simos has had a diverse background of oral surgery experience — teaching and working at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, working in private practice at Oral Surgery Group, and having hospital privileges at both Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St. Peter’s University Hospital. Oral surgery is his passion, and he enjoys getting to know his patients and helping them solve their oral health problems.

Dr. Michael E. Stern

Dr. Michael Stern grew up in Brooklyn, and like his brother, he knew he wanted to go into a dental or medical profession at an early age. He was drawn to oral and maxillofacial surgery because of the skills and knowledge covered by the specialty. Through his training, he gained expertise in oral surgery, anesthesia, and general health, allowing him to treat a wide range of oral, facial, and systemic conditions.

Dr. Stern has been practicing for over 10 years, and he enjoys solving problems for his patients. The oral and maxillofacial specialty gives him the ability to treat more complex and challenging conditions, and Dr. Stern greatly enjoys providing patients with excellent quality care at Oral Surgery Group.
