Meet The Doctors
Dr. Dalbert Fear, DDS, MS
Dr. Dalbert Fear has been serving the Michigan community with high-quality oral and maxillofacial surgery services for almost 30 years. He began practicing at Michigan Oral Surgeons in 1986 following his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Michigan Hospital and has since developed a close relationship with this tight-knit community. When Dr. Fear first joined the practice, he had the privilege of working closely with Dr. Timothy Pickens and Dr. Gilbert Small, both of whom were instructors during his education.
Dr. Fear is an active member of the Department of Surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He has been the hospital Section Head of Dentistry and Oral Surgery since 1997. Dr. Fear serves as a clinical instructor in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He has been the president of the Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Michigan Council of Dental Specialists, and the Washtenaw District Dental Society.
Throughout his time in this practice, one of Dr. Fear’s top priorities is to ensure that every patient receives the most comprehensive and convenient care possible.
Dr. Roger Hitchcock, DDS, MS
Dr. Roger Hitchcock has been a valued member of the Michigan Oral Surgeons team since joining the practice in 1988. He and Dr. Dalbert Fear completed their surgical residency at the University of Michigan and have been working together ever since. At that time, they formed what is now Michigan Oral Surgeons. The practice has grown to three office locations to accommodate the needs of the surrounding communities. We have been providing oral health care to the people in and around the cities of Ann Arbor, Plymouth, and Adrian for more than 25 years.
Helping patients find a solution to their oral health needs is one of the most rewarding parts of working at Michigan Oral Surgeons. Whether you are in need of a wisdom tooth removed, a dental implant, or corrective jaw surgery, Dr. Hitchcock strives to provide care in a calm, comfortable, and predictable manner. At the completion of treatment, it is rewarding to see patients smile with renewed confidence. In many cases, this is a life-changing experience for them.
Dr. Paul C. Lopez, DDS, MD
Dr. Paul C. Lopez joined Michigan Oral Surgeons in 2014 after completing his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Lopez originally hails from New York State. He was born in Manhattan and grew up in Yonkers. As an undergraduate, he studied at the University of Connecticut earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Neurobiology. He gained his first interest in dentistry while working at a neuro-rehabilitation facility. He fell in love with the complexity of restoring both function and aesthetics to the mouth and face. He decided to pursue oral and maxillofacial surgery because he enjoyed the challenge presented by this broad subspecialty and the transformational results that can be achieved.
Dr. Lopez’s top priority is to provide the most highly executed surgical treatment for every patient, while maintaining a friendly and comfortable atmosphere in our offices. As a father, he understands the apprehension that can accompany oral surgery and strives to provide the same top-rated service and treatment he would provide to his own children.
