Alexandria Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center provides excellent oral surgery care to patients from all over the Central Louisiana region. For over 30 years, we have strived to improve the lives of each and every one of our patients. We will treat you with respect and provide the care you deserve.

Our offices are fitted with state-of-the-art technology that allows us to diagnose and treat our patients accurately and efficiently. We offer the full range of oral surgery procedures, from dental implants and wisdom teeth removal to oral disease biopsy and orthognathic (jaw) surgery. Meet the Doctors

Dr. Fred W. Smith

Fred W. Smith, DMD, MD, JD, is originally from Portland, Oregon, though his varied career has led him to live and practice all over the country. He has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery for over 10 years, and he is very happy to be living and working in Alexandria with his family. Coming from a family of doctors, helping people has always been important to Dr. Smith. Oral surgery has given him an opportunity to help people improve their oral health and their overall health.

Dr. P. Steven Arnold Jr.

P. Steven Arnold Jr., DMD, MD, is a dual-degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon with years of experience. He is originally from Mississippi, but after completing his dental, medical, and oral surgery training in 2008, he moved to Alexandria, Louisiana, to join the team at Alexandria Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center. Dr. Arnold is dedicated to helping patients become healthier and happier, and we are excited to have him on the team.

Dr. David Carlton Jr.

Dr. David Carlton Jr. is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and has practiced this specialty in Alexandria since 1982. During this time, he also spent 10 years on the active faculty of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. He received his professional training at the LSU School of Dentistry and the LSU Medical Center New Orleans. Dr. Carlton is a member of several related professional associations, which include the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Association, Central Louisiana Dental Association, as well as the American Dental Society of Anesthesia and American Cleft Lip and Palate Association. Dr. Carlton is part of the Central Louisiana Cleft Lip and Palate team.
