About the Practice

Utah Surgical Arts is only oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in the state of Utah that maintains a surgical center with a Certificate of Accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. AAAHC accreditation means that the doctors and staff at Utah Surgical Arts participate in on-going self-evaluation, peer review, and education to continuously improve their care and services. They also commit to a thorough, on-site survey by AAAHC surveyors, who are themselves healthcare professionals, at least every three years.

Meet the Doctors

Dr. Michael Harris

Dr. Harris has been practicing facial and oral surgery in Utah since 1998. In 2001 he designed and constructed the Utah Surgical Arts outpatient surgical facility, which is accredited by AAAHC. Dr. Harris and his wife enjoy living in Utah County and are looking forward to raising their six children in such a beautiful place. Dr. Harris has 12 years of experience specializing in all aspects of facial, reconstructive, cosmetic, and oral surgery.

Following his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University, Dr. Harris chose to pursue the artistic science of facial, oral, and cosmetic surgery in the ‘European tradition,’ where specialization in facial surgery requires both a medical and dental degree. His medical degree and residency training were completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He received his dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Harris is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Academic achievements include scholastic honors and multiple scientific research awards. His goal is provide excellent surgical care in a comfortable environment.

Dr. David Park

David Park DDS, MD is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who enjoys practicing the expanded scope of maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Park received a bachelors of arts degree from Brigham Young University. He received a scholarship to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. He accepted a residency position at University of Louisville, where he recieved his medical degree, completed an internship in General Surgery, and obtained a certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr Park practices the expanded scope of maxillofacial surgery, which includes placement of dental implants, extraction of wisdom teeth, removal of pathology, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and sleep disorder/apnea surgery. Dr. Park has staff privileges at various hospitals to perform these procedures.

Dr. Park is a member of numerous professional organizations, such as The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Medical Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Park is board certified by ABOMS and has received several awards for his academic and professional achievements, as well as research.

Together Dr. Park and his wife have three wonderful children. He is actively involved in his professional organizations, and he and his family are involved their community and church.
